B2B E-Procuremnt in Germany - 2005/01/07 10:55
I work for a large international distributor, which conducts much of its business in Germany. We have noticed that e-procurement is far more popular in Germany than the UK.
Figures in the latest 2004 European E-Business Report confirm this difference. Page 23 illustrates that in Germany 12% of firms and enterprises comprising 20% of employees buy on B2B trading platforms. This compares to figures for the UK of 5% of firms and enterprises comprising 8% of employees buying on B2B trading platforms.
Can anyone suggest reasons for the importance of buying on B2B trading platforms, in particular B2B e-procurement in Germany? |

Maybe they notice how important e-business is and will be. To stay
competetive and gain competetive, a business has to be profitable and
lower costs as much as it can. Implementation of E-business,
integrations and partnerships are the best ways of doing so.
For ex, as far as I know, the biggest German industris are auto
industry, technology and manufacturing. To penatrate and/or stay at
foreign markets, e-business implemetation is a must. UK, on the
other hand, is more focused on generating revenues from providing
services. |
